Board of Directors

Richard J Barber, AIF®, AAMS®, CMFC®, Director

RJ is the Director of the Binghamton Investment Fund and Zurack Trading Room. He also serves as a Financial Advisor at Lesko Financial Services. Formerly, he served private clients as a Wealth Management Advisor & Financial Planner for Visions Investment Services, a division of Visions FCU, as well as is the Chairman of the Visions Investment Services Community Impact Fund. RJ has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry and maintains numerous securities registrations, insurance licenses, and professional designations from across the industry.

Jake Byrne, Equities Portfolio Manager

Jake is the Equities Portfolio Manager. He is a senior majoring in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Management Information Systems. He has held an internship at KBW in Equity Research covering Consumer Finance and Payments. He will be joining KBW Equity Research next summer. His interests include playing golf, football and UFC.

Bradley Smith, Alternatives Portfolio Manager

Brad is the Alternatives Portfolio Manager. He is a senior majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Previously, he served as Sector Head of the Consumer Discretionary Sector. He has held internships in Accounting with JK Tobin Construction and Accounting at Legrand North America. He will be joining Investment Banking at Nomura upon graduation. His interests include golf, hockey, biking, and traveling.

Matthew McGoldrick, Board of Directors

Matthew is a member of the Board of Directors. He is a senior majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Previously, he spent two years in the financials sector before becoming sector head of the energy sector. He has held internships in Investment Banking with Piper Sandler and at Wolfe Research as an Equity Research Analyst. He will be joining Investment Banking at Piper Sandler next summer in their Financial Services Group. His interests include golf, tennis, movies, the Green Bay Packers, Oasis, and The Sopranos.

Melanie Luque, Board of Directors

Melanie is a senior studying Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Binghamton Investment Fund and was previously the Real Estate Sector Head. She is also the Executive Vice President of Women in Finance. Previously, she was a Girls Who Invest Summer Intensive Program Scholar. She has held internships in Private Equity at TPG covering Internet, Digital Media, and Communications, as well as Sales & Trading at Bank of America. She will return to Bank of America on the Macro Credit Trading desk full-time after graduation. Her interests include running, hiking, music, fashion, and her dog.

Theo D'Onofrio, Board of Directors

Theo is a member of the Board of Directors. He is a senior majoring in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Management Information Systems. Outside of the investment fund, he is the President of the Dean's Mentoring Program and a member of the PwC Scholars Program. He has held internships at Still Lake Capital, Octagon Credit Investors, and as an Investment Banking Analyst at Société Générale. His interests include weightlifting, The Sopranos, One Piece, and reading.

Devin Awatramani, Board of Directors

Devin is a member of the Board of Directors and is the Sector Head of the Healthcare Sector. He is a junior majoring in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance & Management Information Systems. He has previously held internships in Investment Management at Morgan Stanley covering Internet, and in Equity Research at Jefferies covering Pharmaceutical Services. He will be joining Equity Research at Jefferies next summer. His interests include the New York Mets, DJing, traveling, and coffee.

Michael Fischler, Board of Directors

Mike is a member of the Board of Directors and is the Consumer Staples Sector Head. He is a junior majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and is on the 3+1 MBA track. Mike is also one of two head TA's for Finance 311 and a MGMT 111 mentor. He held an internship at Wolfe Research, a sell-side equity research firm, this past summer on the Power and Utilities team, and will be interning at Goldman Sachs on the Executive Wealth Management team next summer. His interests include volleyball, skiing, cooking, camping.

Daniel Ward, Board of Directors

Daniel is a member of the Board of Directors and is the Sector Head of the Financial Services Sector. He is a junior majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. He previously interned at Wendel, a French private equity firm, and will be joining Investment Banking at Moelis next summer. His interests include skiing, golfing, and cars.

Michael Levin, Board of Directors

Michael is a member of the Board of Directors and Sector Head for the Utilities & Renewables Sector. He is a junior studying Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Next summer he is interning at Barclays in their Equity Research division. Last summer he interned at National Bank of Canada in their Power, Utilities, & Infrastructure Investment Banking group. He likes traveling, gym, golf, hiking, and photography.


Equities Sector Heads

William Morais Binnie, Communication Services

Will is the Sector Head of the Communication Services Sector. He is a senior majoring in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Management Information Systems. He is also the captain of the D1 Men's Tennis team. Will has held an internship at Nomura in Investment Banking where he will be returning full time next year. His interests include FCPorto, music and traveling.

Jacob Abraham, Consumer Discretionary

Jacob is the Sector Head of the Consumer Discretionary and the Special Situations Sectors. He is a junior majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. He is also the Vice President of Internal Development for the Finance Society. He has previously held internships in Investment Banking at Bank of America and at Solas Capital Management, a L/S Hedge Fund. He will be joining Blackstone next summer. His interests include weightlifting, cars, and firefighting.

Emilia Franco, Energy

Emilia is the Sector Head of the Energy Sector. She is the Vice President of Education for the Binghamton Finance Society. She is a sophomore majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Spanish. This past summer she was an Investment Banking Fellow at J.P. Morgan. She will be joining Investment Banking at Guggenheim Securities next summer. Her interests include tennis, road trips, and music.

Daniel is a member of the Board of Directors and is the Sector Head of the Financial Services Sector. He is a junior majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Peter Landi, Industrials

Peter is the Sector Head of Industrials. He is a junior majoring in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Management Information Systems. Peter has held internships in Commerical Credit and Private Placements. He will be joining Mizuho next summer in investment banking. He enjoys watching the New York Jets/Yankees, playing basketball, and listening to rock music.

Roman LaVaglia, Materials

Roman is the Materials Sector Head. He is a junior majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Roman has previously worked at Stop & Shop as a Cashier. He will be joining Investment Banking at Mizuho next summer. He enjoys Lady Gaga.

Mark Duong, Real Estate

Mark is a Junior majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. He is the sector head of the Real Estate Sector of the Binghamton Investment Fund. This upcoming summer he is interning at SMBC as a Project and Structured Finance Summer Analyst. He has previously held internships at Siemens Financial Services in their Corporate Lending and Project Finance divisions. Mark is also a mentor for MGMT 111. His interests include traveling, listening to music, running, and spending time with friends.

Michael Levin, Utilities & Renewables

Michael is a member of the Board of Directors and Sector Head for the Utilities & Renewables Sector. He is a junior studying Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. Daniel Kovan, Technology

Daniel is the Sector Head of the Technology Sector. He is a junior majoring in Economics with a concentration in Financial Economics. Previously, he has held internships in Venture Capital at Ground Up Ventures and Strategy at Solve Fixed Income, a fintech startup. He will be joining Investment Banking at Raymond James next summer in their Capital Structure Advisory group. His interests include Hockey, specifically the Maple Leafs, Tennis, and hiking.

 
 
 

Alternatives Sector Heads

Samuel Brugger, Commodities

Sami is the Commodities Asset Class Head of the Binghamton Investment Fund and a Senior Analyst in the Energy Sector. He is a junior majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Management Information Systems. Previously he interned in the Financial Wellness department at Visions Federal Credit Union and was a member of the Finance Development team of Financial Literacy for the Youth (FLY). His interests include weightlifting, playing guitar, surfing, traveling, and One Piece.

Theo D'Onofrio, Credit

Theo is the Asset Class Head of Credit. He is a junior majoring in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Management Information Systems. Outside of the investment fund, he is a Junior Vice President of the Dean's Mentoring Program and a member of the PwC Scholars Program. He has held internships as an Investment Analyst at Still Lake Capital and in Credit Research at Octagon Credit Investors. He will be joining Investment Banking at Société Générale next summer. His interests include weightlifting, The Sopranos, One Piece, reading and filmmaking.

Yoni Menasha, Emerging Markets

Yoni is junior majoring in Business Administration with concentrations in finance and business analytics. He has held an internship at Chestnut Holdings working on the commercial real estate side of the business. This upcoming semester he will be interning at Jefferies Equity Research on the Restaurants team. On campus, he is on the executive board of the Sports Management Group and a part of the EY Scholars Program. His interests include cooking, golf, and the San Francisco 49ers. 

Ari Wechsler, Treasuries

Ari is the Asset Class Head of Treasuries. He is a junior pursuing a dual degree in Mathematics and Business Administration with a concentration in Finance, and is the President of the Men’s Club Ultimate Frisbee team. He is interning in Equity Research at Jefferies this fall, covering Technology, Media, and Telecom. His interests include hiking in the Adirondacks, snowboarding, Manchester City, and The Bear.

Shayna Nguyen, Currenices

Shayna is the Currencies Asset Class Head on the Alternatives Sleeve. She is a senior majoring in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and MIS. Previously she was the sectorhead of the real estate sector. She has held internships in Equity Research at Barclays and participated in the Girls Who Invests Online Intensive Program. This past summer, she interned on the telecommunications Equity Research team at JPMorgan where she will be returning full time. Her interests include trying new restaurants, reading, and traveling.

Emily Milone, Asset-Backed Securities and Mortgage-Backed Securities

Emily is the Asset Class Head for Asset-Backed Securities and Mortgage-Backed Securities. She is a senior majoring in Business Administration with concentrations in Finance and Management Information Systems. She has previously interned in Equity Research at Jefferies, in Sales at Schroders, and in the Sales & Trading division at Bank of America. She will be returning to Bank of America in their Global Markets division after graduation. Her interests include reading, concerts, and theater.
