What is the Binghamton Investment Fund?

A premier student-managed investment platform

The Binghamton Investment Fund is a highly selective student-managed investment program in which students manage a diversified, multi-class portfolio of more than $750,000. Structured to reflect the discipline and analytical rigor of a professional asset manager, the Fund provides direct experience in equity research, portfolio management, macroeconomic analysis, and investment decision-making.

Originally introduced during the 2016-2017 academic year, the Fund evolved from the School of Management’s longstanding Equity Valuation “Trading Room” course, which began with a $100,000 gift in 2003 to support practical, market-based finance education. Today, the Fund stands as one of the University’s most rigorous and professionally relevant finance experiences.
